June 9, 2024:

We have many used mats from previous seasons that were part of our original program to make mats accessible to lake residents.
These mats are used and functional. We are making them available to OLPA members on a first come basis, one mat per member, free of charge!
You will be responsible for picking up the mats from Glencove Rd where they are stored, and you agree to accept them in "AS IS" condition. OLPA assumes no responsibility for mats once you take possession. The size is 10 ft by 20 ft. You will need a pickup truck or trailer to transport. We suggest 2-3 people and wear work gloves

If you need help installing the mats we can refer you to some young men for hire who are experienced with putting them in and taking them out. Please inquire through our email address olpawebsite@gmail.com

Matting has proven to successfully keep weed growth from occurring where they are placed. They can be moved after a few weeks to mitigate weeds in multiple spots. Weed growth is limited or non-existent where the mats were in place, as reported by users. Benthic mat usage is approved by the DEC and other agencies that monitor water bodies. It's another tool we can use to mitigate weed growth and keep your dock/hoist/swimming area accessible all summer!

Mat pick up will take place Saturday June 15 from 9 am – 12:00
at Glencove Rd, Walsh’s barn at the bottom of the hill on the right, No street number. It is the first structure you encounter at bottom of hill.
